Membership Information

Member Classifications & Pricing

Fellow Member - $195

A Fellow Member shall be a PA residing and/or practicing in Texas, who is a graduate of a PA program accredited by the ARC-PA, or by one of its predecessor agencies (CAHEA or CAAHEP), or who has passed the PANCE administered by the NCCPA, or an examination administered by another agency approved by AAPA. A Fellow TAPA Member shall be an AAPA fellow member in good standing and remain current in the payment of AAPA membership fees. A Fellow Member of the TAPA shall have floor and voting privileges, may hold office and serve as a delegate to the AAPA House of Delegates.

Join as Fellow Member


Associate Member - $195

An Associate Member shall be a PA who is eligible for TAPA Fellow Membership who but has chosen not to be a member of AAPA. Associate Members shall have the privilege of the floor, may vote on non-AAPA related items and may hold a non-officer position. An Associate Member may not serve as a TAPA delegate to the AAPA House of Delegates.

Supporting Member - $145

A Supporting Member is either (1) an individual who is not a PA, but who supports the profession or (2) is a PA who does not reside or practice in Texas. Supporting Membership requires approval on a case by case basis as outlined by TAPA policy. Supporting Members shall have the privilege of the floor, but shall not be entitled to vote, to hold office, or chair a committee.

Join as Supporting Member


Student Member - $35

A Student Member is a person who is enrolled in a PA program accredited by ARC-PA or a predecessor agency. Student Members are entitled to the privilege of the floor, may vote for Student Representatives as outlined by their PA program and may vote for Student Director as outlined in these bylaws, but may not vote or hold any BOD position except that of elected Student Director.

Retired Member - $95

A Retired Member shall be a PA who is a former fellow or sustaining member who has chosen to retire from the profession and opts to be classified as a retired member. Retired members shall be entitled to privileges of the floor, but shall not be entitled to vote or hold office.

Industry Member - $250

An Industry Member shall consist of representatives of businesses engaged in selling products or services to PAs, individuals affiliated with organizations supportive of PAs, or individuals employed by government agencies who do not qualify for any other membership category. Industry members are not entitled to the privileges of the floor, to vote or to hold office. 


Honorary Member

An Honorary Member is an honorary status conferred by the BOD of TAPA upon non-PAs who have rendered distinguished service to the PA profession. Honorary Members shall not be entitled to vote or hold office. All Honorary Members shall be exempt from the payment of dues.

A portion of your dues may be tax deductible as an ordinary and necessary business expense. For dues paid for the current dues year, we have estimated that 45% of your dues are non-deductible as those portions are allocated to lobbying, as defined by law. 

 

Special Membership Connotations

Past President

A Fellow, Associate, Retired or Supporting Member who has served at least 75% of full term as President of TAPA. This status is enduring and may not be removed without consent of the full sitting TAPA BOD recusing the sitting TAPA President.

Faculty

A Fellow, Associate, Retired, Supporting or Honorary Member who serves as a PA educator at an accredited institution with a faculty appointment of at least 60% didactic responsibilities. This status is contingent upon employment in an educational role. Current employment verification documentation from the educational institution may be requested by TAPA to verify connotation eligibility at any time. 

Recent Graduate

A Fellow, Associate, Student or Supporting Member who graduated from an accredited PA program within the past 6 months. This status expires 6 months after graduation from said accredited PA program.

Military

A Fellow, Associate, Student, Supporting, Retired or Honorary Member who are currently active in any branch of the U.S. Armed Services

Pre-PA Student

A Supporting Member who aspires to enroll in an ARC-PA, or its successor agency, accredited PA Program.

Physician

A Supporting Member who is a licensed physician supportive of TAPA members, goals and policies.
