TAPA's committees provide opportunities to build leadership skills, influence policy and connect with peers who are just as passionate as you. Each of our committees focuses on a different aspect of our mission to support and empower PAs across Texas. Continuing Medical Education Finance Chair: Tim Wombacher, PA-C Develop & refine the TAPA Finance Policy, which includes, but is not limited to: handling of monies, budgeting, financial planning, executing external audit and more. This also includes assisting in the duties of the Treasurer as tasked. Note: Students are not eligible to apply for the Finance Committee. Governance Chair: Katie DeLucia, MPAS, PA-C Annually review, revise and update all TAPA Bylaws and Policies and refer and/or task to appropriate committee(s) for input; Oversee TAPA Elections and TAPA Annual Awards. Note: Students are not eligible to apply for the Governance Committee. Legislative Affairs Chair: N/A The Legislative Affairs committee promotes PA practice by advocating for PA-friendly legislation and practice rules and fostering key relationships with other stakeholders, coalitions and legislators. Membership & Public Relations Chair: Kristen Ahumada Heimdal The Membership and PR Committee promotes and retains TAPA membership. Its tasks include coordinating membership drives and increasing awareness of the PA profession through novel media campaigns. Student Council Chair: Cassandra Whetstone, PA-C The Student Council is a committee consisting of PA school student representatives and faculty liaisons. Its mission is to increase student engagement and promote awareness of PA practice issues. Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Chair: Monique Allman, PA-C The DEI committee exists to promote diversity, equity and inclusion practices within TAPA and the PA profession. |
